Energy saving tank agitators

Tank Cleaning Technologies are pleased to announce the arrival of the new tank Agitator range, designed to provide gentle product treatment with low energy consumption in a wide range of mixing and blending duties. This unique agitator solution is commonly used for applications such as: ensuring product homogeneity, maintaining suspension and aiding fermentation and heat transfer.

The agitators modular design means they can be precisely customised for specific duties and either top mounted, bottom mounted or side mounted. All of the components are designed with the aim to meet European and U.S standards including EHEDG, USDA and FDA. ATEX certification and material certificates are also available on request.

The Energy Saving EnSaFoil Propellers have been designed to provide a very high flow rate, whilst requiring the minimum energy input from the drive motor – the efficiency of an EnSaFoil propeller is up to 400% better than a propeller with blades of a standard pitch. Great care has been taken to prevent product shear, to reduce energy usage and provide efficient cleaning during CIP.

Clean design
The configuration of the Impeller blades ensures excellent levels of hygiene. There are no shadow areas nor flat areas or crevasses where product could accumulate and the shaft within the tank is completely smooth. The gearing and shaft detachment are all placed externally to the tank. Externally the bearing carrier and lantern/spacer are Stainless Steel and all joints are constructed with outer seal o-rings.

The innovative design ensures maximum pumping efficiency with the lowest possible energy input. Thanks to the Hydrofoil blades, slower rotation speeds can be achieved without any loss of pumping power. This also contributes to gentle product treatment and the energy efficiency which is a key feature of the energy saving agitators.

Pay back
The pay back is twofold: enhanced product quality and lower energy consumption. As a result of reduced shear and lower energy consumption smaller frequency converters can be employed on the electric motors. The lower energy consumption also means lower installation cost when it comes to cabling etc. Whilst energy costs can be reduced by as much as 80%.

In real terms, the savings in energy compared, for instance, with conventional direct drive agitators, should be sufficient to achieve pay back in less than one year.

As well as supporting Alfa Laval’s new energy saving agitators, Tank Cleaning Technologies continue as the UK’s Toftejorg distributor, supplying the most effective and efficient tank cleaning equipment, optimising CIP regimes and providing the one stop solution for all your tank cleaning requirements.
